KUJICHAGULIA
Check this build out and share it with your family and friends!!!
Kujichagulia (Self-determination) To define ourselves, name ourselves, create for ourselves and speak for ourselves, instead of being defined, named, created for and spoken for by others.
Self determination for black people cannot be given to us by anyone, it must be self discovered, self realized and uniquely uncovered by the person seeking freedom and liberation in the true sense of the word. To begin the process, one must look beyond the surface of illusionary impossibilities and into the great depths of self which holds the key ingredients to true manumission. (To free from slavery)
This endeavor is an individualistic realization, and the hope is for the emergence of a collective frame of thinking that unifies your self determination with people of similar hue so that together, we can bring change and prosperity for generations to come!
Our communities are decadent and malnourished on so many levels. The fiery hope and collective unity that once drove us, has been replaced with hopelessness and surrender. We no longer believe that things will change or get better for black people. And because of that we lead selfish and individual lives. And if we do believe, based upon our current state of affairs, the percentile is very low.
If we do not place an emotional, spiritual and physical investment into the restoration of ourselves and our communities, then every generation after us is doomed to suffer more of the same fate. Self Determination for black people gives us the confidence necessary to do the right thing, not just for ourselves, but for our family, community, nation and race.
We need to be better, we need to do more, and we need it now! We must be unapologetic when it comes to our genius and inherent richness, because as you have seen, the scales of justice, fairness, equality, healthcare, poverty and the even distribution of wealth as it relates to black people is very lopsided and not in our favor.
If we want our communities to shine brighter, we must polish them! If we want our sons and daughters to be successful men and women, we must lead by example and teach them the RIGHT things! And if we truly desire to see our people happy and free, we must get out of this individual mind set and stop killing, harming, hurting and abusing them. Considering that our promise of a better tomorrow resides in each of us, let's pull our strengths into an impervious (incapable of being penetrated) thing of beauty so that we may create the pathway to paradise.
In closing, here's some Afrikan words of wisdom:
1. No Afrika, No Afrika Americans.
2. A Tree Cannot Stand Without Its Roots.
3. Although I Know That I Was Not Born In Afrika, However, I Have Come To Realize That Afrika Was Born In Me.
4. An Afrikan Man/Woman Of Character Can Turn A Stumbling Block Into A Stepping Stone.
5. Living Is Giving. If Your Not Giving, You're Not Living.
So, if you cannot do it for me, or for yourself, then do it for them. Do it for the children because the purity of their innocence is worth the sacrifice it will take to better their lives. Thank You!
Your Humble Servant,
Carlos D. King
