 HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY


We've always heard the saying: "this is a man's world", but it couldn't be possible for a man to even utter that statement without a beautiful, loving, caring and do everything MOTHER! She gave life to the planet and it is time that we start treating her as such. Just think about this, men try to separate a woman from the title mother as if they are not the same person, how do I mean? Men treat their women or a woman different than they treat their mothers. All men created the old laws on the books that marginalized women (mothers) from being all they could be in life, and not just the regulation and maintenance of children and the home.

Women couldn't even vote until the ratification of the 19th amendment in 1920, yet, she's been around for as long as man bringing joy to the world in the form of children and other outstanding and wonderful things. But the woman (mother) was/is greater than just a birth giver (because some women can't or don't want children), she helped/helps give life to man's ideas in the construction of the world. She aided his thoughts, gave her perspective while being subjective, raised their children, cooked their dinner, all the while bearing the blunt of his frustration when he needed someone to blame for his failures. Yet, she wasn't good enough to be apart of the drafting of the constitution in 1787, she wasn't good enough to be recognized and given to for her contributions, but she is good enough to be our mother whom we claim to love so very much. WE MUST BE BETTER!!!


Real change is long over due! So for this very special Mother's Day in the year 2022, we as men (her loving children) must treat her greater than we've ever treated her. The woman (mother) has earned the right, as we (man) have, to self governed her body, heart, and ideas in any way she pleases. We cannot continue holding women (mothers) back from being the greatest they can be. So, to all the amazing, beautiful and wonderful women (mothers) out there, I salute you, I thank you, and I love you for being so precious and valuable to us. You are truly the backbone and pulse of the world and I really want to take this time to tell you how much you are appreciated by children and grown humane men like myself. I say humane because it distinguishes me from the many men that lack the fortitude to return to you in kind all that you've truly given to him.

I am touched everyday by your amazing courage and love for your children, your strength and awesomeness when it comes to standing up for what's right, your commitment and dedication to contribute to the world in a powerful and sustaining way, and lastly, I am touched by your ability to rise beyond the stars while still being held down by the prejudices and double standards of men. Yes, I salute you because I am in awe. You are more than just a woman or a mother, you are everything to everyone every second of everyday and I admired that so much.


I am grateful for the unconditional love you carry that makes you so special. Thank you for being my woman, my sister, my friend, my wife, but most importantly, thank you for being my mom, our mom! I will be better going forward. Happy Mother's Day, you are truly the gift that keeps on giving, love you!

THE RELEVANCE AND IMPORTANCE OF MY STORY.

From my arrest, prosecution and prison sentence, no one has ever asked to hear my story. Not where I came from, not what happened in my childhood that tore the fabric of my being, and not what caused me to choose crime instead of education. None of those questions were asked. No one ever desired to know the mitigating circumstances that landed me in prison! All that mattered to the police officer, prosecutor, court appointed attorney, judge and the jury was: "He committed this crime and we will punish him for it." THOMAS WASHINGTON - INNOCENT

  Dear Reader, My name is Thomas Louis Washington, prison number #407126 I am currently falsely imprisoned within the Michigan Department Of Corrections. I was sentenced to 42 to 82 years for 1st degree home invasion, assault with intent to murder. I have been wrongly convicted for 13 long years. The Detroit Police Officers who handled the evidence that would have proved my innocence either mishandled it or intentionally destroyed it.
