 HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY


You've earned my trust, confidence, faith, respect, and most of all, my love! You are the greatest and most important human being in my life, and it would take me a billion life times to repay you for all you've given and continue to give to me. I will never be able to do it, but right now I would like to take this time to stretch and expand my heart and mind to show you exactly what you mean and have meant to my life.

First, there are not enough words to express how much I love you and how significant I've always felt because of you, but I will give it a go. Mom, when I look in the mirror at myself, I see you! I see your smile, your eyes, and your cheek bones and that makes me so proud to be your son. Having your features is not just about being your son, but sharing a part of you that no one, not even death can ever take from me and that makes me the most happiest. I smile deeply knowing that you made and gave all of you to me every day of my life and I love you so much for that.

You not only carried me in your womb, but you cradled me in your arms, watched me while I was sleeping, fed me when I was hungry, taught me so I would know, hugged and kissed me when I was hurting, loved me unconditionally greater than anyone else, and showed me with consistency the depths you would go time and time again to be there for me. You have always been my rock, my fortress and my greatest love and I am indebted to you for the rest of my life.

There will never be a day in my life where you are not recognized for your unbelievable strength, courage, resolve, fight, commitment, beauty and unconditional love when it comes to your children? You are the mighty force behind the scenes of us and as the sun burns in the sky, so shall you burn in every crevice of me for the remainder of me. You have always been more than just a mother to me, you have always been the greatest example of love and family that I have ever known in my life and I am so proud and elated to be your son. Thank you for all that you do and I appreciate all that you are. You can never be wrong in my eyes or in my heart. I am forever the star that you gave life to and I will continue to shine. Happy Mother's Day Mom, you are such a treasure in my life and I love you so much.

THE RELEVANCE AND IMPORTANCE OF MY STORY.

From my arrest, prosecution and prison sentence, no one has ever asked to hear my story. Not where I came from, not what happened in my childhood that tore the fabric of my being, and not what caused me to choose crime instead of education. None of those questions were asked. No one ever desired to know the mitigating circumstances that landed me in prison! All that mattered to the police officer, prosecutor, court appointed attorney, judge and the jury was: "He committed this crime and we will punish him for it."   Dear Reader, My name is Thomas Louis Washington, prison number #407126 I am currently falsely imprisoned within the Michigan Department Of Corrections. I was sentenced to 42 to 82 years for 1st degree home invasion, assault with intent to murder. I have been wrongly convicted for 13 long years. The Detroit Police Officers who handled the evidence that would have proved my innocence either mishandled it or intentionally destroyed it. At my trial the Officer that handled the evidence failed to show up to my trial when he was called.
